Aris was born in San Francisco, and his first contact with nature was through watching birds in his backyard feeders. Growing up with a pair of binoculars in hand and after many trips to California’s Bay area wetlands and NorCal’s Sequoia forests he realized he had a true passion for birds and birding. He kept following this passion after moving to Greece where he started volunteering for the Hellenic Ornithological Society, and continues to this day. He is implementing his dream of becoming an ornithologist by studying for a bachelor’s in Biology at NKUA and is also a trainee in bird ringing, scientific method which has literally brought him closer to the field of ornithology. Of course, his initial passion for birding remains and motivates his search for new species and memorable experiences in nature.
